What, you expected an update?

So it has been a week. Well... a week and a day. And so far I don't feel any different. Weight wise, I am waiting until next week to do a weigh-in. Why? Because I sucked and didn't stick with taking the supplements this past weekend. And because I still don't have a scale.

Don't judge me.

Anyway - the funny thing is that this weekend, when I didn't take the acai I had all the energy in the world to do laundry, to clean the living room and dining room, straighten up my bathroom, clean my bedroom. It was crazy! And a little backwards. I mean, I thought this stuff was supposed to give me energy while I was actually taking it. Or maybe I am doing that psychosomatic thing I am famous for?

I had been trying to do speed walking and stuff when I took the dog out this past week and I think I did a good job. She has gotten into the habit of pulling the leash harder now when I slow down because she has gotten used to trotting quicker. So tomorrow morning is when I start the jogging. I hope. Then next week will be the Shimmy episodes... because I sort of forgot to set them to record on tivo.

Oh don't start! I already told you I was lazy. This was bound to happen eventually. Sheesh.

I am thinking of trying to do some biking in the evenings as well. I need to map out a one mile route to start with and make sure it's dog friendly. Then I can start taking Tipi with me. She looooves to run with my bike, but I worry that she will get winded in the cold air so I am looking into getting her a Suki Seat. I hope she likes it. I hope I like it. I don't know how I am going to feel about a dog in my crotch.

Count Down Begins

I just got back from a family wedding this weekend, and holy crap am I tired. I actually didn't do a lot of bad eating and I was really sort of active with the whole dancing like a crazy person at the reception. That counts as exercise, right?

Speaking of exercise, I have decided to add extended walks with the dog to progress into jogging and recording and following the episodes of Shimmy (a belly dancing program on... some channel I can't remember) as my increase in exercise. Cheap and easy and something slow to start off with so I don't overwhelm myself.

Tonight I take my Colon Clenz again then tomorrow morning will begin the Acai Berry. I also have to buy a scale so that I can document on any weightloss that might occur. That might have to wait until I have taken a nap, though, cause I haven't had a lot of sleep in the last four days.

I also want to add a thank you to everyone who has commented and offered support. You're all awesome and I love you. If you want to journal with me, then shoot me a link and I will follow you so that we can all support each other in the process!

In the beginning

Height: 5 feet 8.5 inches
Weight: 196
Target Weight: 146-150

According to this... I need to lose about 50 pounds. Will I make it to 50? Probably not, but it's all abut the journey, am I right? So let's get this journey started.

Last night I picked up the supplements along with some deodorant (I was running low) and decided that I would try the Colon Clenz for a week before I began the Acai Berry. My theory is that I need to get my body "detoxified" first so that the acai will be more effective from the start. So I popped two pills, ate a bunch of pizza, and went to bed. Why? Because the box claims overnight success and how better to test it than on a stomch full of cheese pizza.

I did have a hard time falling asleep, but I have no idea if that was a result of the colon clenz or not. It could have been all the caffeine I'd had. Anyway - I was up at 6:45 this morning to walk the dog and actually felt bloated more than anything. As it was still too dark out to walk the dog the usual way I go (hurry up daylight savings!) I took the longer way around with lots of streetlights and people to look at me wondering why I am walking the dog in my pajamas and three layers of hoodies. The dog enjoyed it - my hands were freezing.

I was hoping the walk would loosen something up for me, but mostly I was gassy. So I went about my usual routine of feeding and watering both the dog and the birds, made my bed, showered, then sat down to put on my shoes and socks when I felt that familiar rumble.

It's safe to say the colon clenz is working. I still feel a little gassy and like I am probably going to have to visit the personal confessional again soon, but at least something is happening.

The colon clenz itself is not supposed to actually make you lose weight (just make you feel better and hopefully more energetic to help you lose weight), but I am going to weigh myself at the end of the week before I start the acai.

More updates to come!

P.S. if there is anyone else out there who would like to try this with me, let me know! I would love to have some more people to try this with.

Mission Improbable

So here's the deal. My name is Marie, I will be 30 in two months (I say this not because it has anything to do with my motivation, but because I like birthday wishes), and I need to lose weight. But (I do have a big one of those literally and figuratively):
1. I cannot afford to spend money on a gym membership or pay to participate in weight loss programs.
2. I am also too lazy tired to just get off my butt and take the dog on longer walks or work out when I actually have the time to do it.
3. Eating healthy is expensive and kind of boring and frankly... I am a picky eater. So most of the time I refuse to eat what they allow you to have on diets.

So what's my plan? Well - after reading up a lot about the Acai Berry Supplement weightloss plan, I have decided this is what I need. While I could definitely stand to lose weight, mostly I am tired of being tired. Which is a result of being overweight. Acai is supposed to boost your energy and suppress your appetite which means weight loss. I can hang with that.

The problem is that I work for a church and so I don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive supplements or diet plans for gym memberships. So my answer? Do a cheap version of it and see how effective it is.

According to the Acai diet, you are supposed to use it in conjunction with a colon cleanser for maximum results. So I did some research (I googled a lot) into a couple of different products I could pick up at the pharmacy or the grocery store and finally decided on two that can be found at Walmart (see:the happiest place on earth).

Bodygold Dietary Supplement Colon Clenz and Spring Valley Natural Wild Harvested Acai Dietary Supplement are the two products I am going to try for 30 days to see how effective they are. I wanted to make sure neither of these would give me the runs or heart palpitations or something like that so I did make sure to read up on them and their ingredients. Everything I have read has said they are safe and effective. I encourage everyone to do the same before you start taking ANYTHING - herbal and all-natural alike.

The experiment begins today.
